Call for projects

Regional Scriptwriting Residency (Closed) 

Villa Hegra and Film AlUla are launching a call for applications for a new scriptwriting residency, developed in partnership with Le Groupe Ouest and LIM². 

From September to October 2026, up to eight screenwriters based in Saudi Arabia and/or the MENA region who are developing original feature film projects will take part in an immersive residency in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. 

Designed as a space for experimentation, dialogue and collective development, the programme will support projects in their early stages through workshops, collaborative sessions and creative exchanges.
