Art, Science and Cinema workshops

In collaboration with 104 Ingénierie and Forum des Images, the science outreach center La Rotonde was invited by Villa Hegra to design a week-long programme of workshops dedicated to movement and animation.

This educational and creative programme offered young audiences in AlUla an immersive experience at the crossroads of artistic and scientific practices through a series of workshops:

– Hands in Movement, designed for children aged 6 to 8, introduced participants to the creation of animated images using phosphorescent paint and UV light.

– Film Factory, for ages 8 to 12, invited participants to imagine a character and collaboratively produce their first stop-motion film.

– Building Bridges, developed by the Explora team at La Rotonde – Centre de Sciences, enabled students to explore principles of force and construction by designing and building a bridge model inspired by AlUla.

All the films produced were presented during two open-air screenings at Villa Hegra, followed by a cine-concert for young audiences in collaboration with Forum des Images. Altogether, these initiatives brought together more than 1,300 participants.
